    Hey guys,

Due to a couple huge changes we had to make in the game (we won't explain what...it's very, very boring technical jargon) -- the next TT_Unstable has taken a little longer to get out than most people would like.

We were aware of this, which is why we waited until after Christmas (and a jam packed update in the name of 0.7.9 to keep you all occupied) and the Multiplayer Alpha release to do it, so that you all had some TerraTech goodness to sink your teeth into while we got to work.

Here is a short (this post was originally 15,000 characters long but XenForo told me off) list of some of the changes, improvements, balancing and new blocks that are coming in the next TT_Unstable - which should be here in the next couple of weeks.

New features / content / improvements:
    • New save file location - fixes game saves being lost when uninstalling the game. Save game files will no longer be kept in hidden folders on some systems.
    • Removed the fuse time where Cabs will flash before exploding. Cabs and AI Modules will now explode without any delay when they reach 0 health.
    • Increased Tech rotation speed in build mode when A or D keys are held.
    • Reduced the rotation options for the Hawkeye Tread and Garrison wheels. They can now only be attached in an upright rotation because they were a pain to attach without scrolling through lots of sideways and inverted options.
    • Decreased the blast radius of the GSO Megaton Cannon.
    • Added all Corporation Fabricators to the list of Blocks that will always be available to purchase from Trading Stations.
    • Updated the Damage Multiplier Table:
    • Reduced the Health of the GSO Cab Armour Plate from 550HP down to 500HP.
    • Reduced the Health of the GeoCorp Jaws Wheel from 2640HP down to 1980HP.
    • Increased the Health of the Venture Radar from 140HP up to 200HP.
    • Increased the Health of the Hawkeye Radar from 200HP up to 300HP.
    • Reduced the weight of the GSO Repair Bubble from 3 to 2.
    • Reduced the weight of the GSO Shield Bubble from 3 to 2.
    • Reduced the weight of the GSO Solar Generator from 2 to 1.5.
    • Increased the capacity of the Venture Battery to match the GSO Battery.
    • Increased the health of the GSO Battery from 200HP to 250HP
    • Fixed Recipe errors for Hawkeye Zeus Laser, GSO Medium Armour Plate, GSO Large Armour Plate, GeoCorp Small Shock Plating, GeoCorp Large Shock Plating, GeoCorp Jaws Wheel.
    • Reduced the Force of the Venture Hover Plate.
    • Reduced the rotation options for the GSO Hub Wheel and the Venture Dune Wheels to only allow upright rotation options.
    • Reduced the health of all GeoCorp Blocks by 10%.
    • Added Monuments to the R&D Test Chamber (R&D Pack owners only).
    • Reduced the price of the Venture Hail Fire Rifle to BB522, the new recipe is: Fibron x 2, Titania x 2, Fibre Plating x 2
    • Increased damage of the GSO, Hawkeye and Venture Fixed Shotguns.
    • Renamed the Hawkeye Shotgun to Hawkeye Bayonet Shotgun.
    • Updated Projectiles for all Cannon, Mortar and Missile weapons to help them hit their targets more reliably.
    • Increased the damage of the Hawkeye Zeus Laser.
    • Increased the kickback of the Hawkeye Battleship Cannon and increased its ability to aim laterally (only slightly).
    • Reduced the ranges of the more powerful Cannon weapons.
    New Blocks:
    • Venture Filter
    • Venture Dropper
    • Venture Ripsaw Track
    • Venture Lance Laser Turret
    • Venture Hurricane Track
    • EXP AA Repulsor Cannon

So I guess this is where I stop using cabs as bridges for my techs then.

    Oh no

There goes my entire fleet of airships. Again.

Now I need to test and see if the hover bug still works with the wheels facing down. Still, I have to rebuild every single airship and hover bug tech I have made, since they all use upside down hub wheels and have things attached to said wheels. What a heartbreak.

Now I don't know if I'm looking forward to the new update or not.

I hope that upright rotation include wheel up and wheel down, so only 8 positions. If not you just limited by far all hoverbug designs.

    And when is update?

I've mentioned this before: reducing orientations is the wrong way to go about fixing the rotating issues. Even if you ignore the hover bug and this breaking that for a lot of techs, this simply gives us less options to build with. What if I want to use them as bumpers? What if I want to drive with the top of my tech if it gets flipped over? What if I want to make one of those rolling wheel techs? What about the multitech uses?

Yes, rotating blocks can be annoying. But the system should be smarter, not more restricted. More options = more room for creativity.

I strongly recommend reverting the changes to the Venture hoverplates and the rotation options for the hub wheels before releasing the update. The hoverplates are fine as they are now and don't have any problems, and the hub wheel is so much more useful with other orientations, mainly for the hover bug. Changing that will break many techs and cause a lot of problems.

I stand on the matter beside quackduck. I would have kept them the same.

Edit: Also, what's a Hawkeye Ion Battery? Is it an actual battery, or is it like a missile battery with lasers or something?
