Hi Everyone,

Buckle up! Your latest challenge is to create the fastest tech possible on two wheels.

So how is this going to work?

You need to:
  • Create a tech using only two wheels
  • Make it as fast as you can
  • Test the speed in the R&D Speed Trap (see attached R&D Game Save) OR in Creative Mode with a speedometer
  • Record the highest speed it can reach
  • Save the snapshot and upload it to this thread along with the speed you think it can reach
I will then test each submission using the R&D Speed Trap. Valid submissions will be added to the Leaderboard which will be updated every Monday.

Rules:
  • Only two wheels can be in contact with the floor at one time. It is called the Two Wheel Challenge after all
  • No Hoverbug. It's broken
  • No modded Techs or blocks. Let's play fair
  • One Submission per week. Make it count

There should be a minimum amount of time a tech needs to be able to keep their top speed, because anyone can build a tech that can go 300 mph for 0.1 seconds, but building a tech that can keep a speed of 220+ mph for over 10 seconds for example is a much better challenge.

Good point! That's why I'm using the R&D Speed Trap to standardise everything.

@Matt I have noticed a discrepancy between the speed indicated on the speedtrap and the speedo display of 1 mug per hour with the speedtrap giving a lower figure

Fyi, the speed trap measures your speed at a single instant - the moment you touch the laser. It is not a two-point detection so duration of speed is inconsequential with the rules as they are laid out.

didnt it need to sustain for about 10 seconds
No. It's not in the rules.

No. It's not in the rules.
oh then i really cant wait for next wednesday because then my fastest tech is -2147483648 or 999. but shortly after the game crashes

I have made a quick thing with Venture Double boosters and Brackets, presenting "Fast Lad 2"

Reaches a speed of 374 mph for about a tenth of a second but she can do it, without her boosters she'll manage a blistering 14 mph!

um what

My fastest goes at 3500 by exploding
the trick is that the tech its self is going at about 50 mph but the gravity amplifiers for some reason trick the game in to thinking that its basically infinite speed
