Back in the olden days of yore, The Lemon Kingdom had built the first missile to travel to the stars - a feat that marked the kingdom's ascension to space, and to further fortify its position. While an aged concept, missiles are a common method of transporting resources where Mass Drivers would not be cost-effective. Cheap, versatile and easy to build, missiles are still relevant in the modern age of spacecraft.
Thus, it would be sensible to marry the cost-effectiveness of a missile and the reliability of a Lemonian spacecraft. The Blunderbuss is the result.
Its initial designs were proposed by different companies, ranging from a small cruiser storing a single missile to unconventional designs involving an upside-down silo layout. The current design won out as it's the most reliable.
As a mobile missile ship, it's prominent feature is its capability to launch missiles at a target, whether to send resources or nuclear fire. While not built for front-line combat, it can fulfill the role temporarily. Better Future parts have been fully integrated into its engines, enabling it to travel fast for a ship of its size.
The first of its class has been assigned to the 2nd Expeditionary Fleet.
