The idea of Super Weapons(re-post from steam)

Which drawback you think should have when having super weapons on your tech?

Super Weapon is a very powerful weapon that comes with a big cost to fire it, so it's impossible to fire rapidly, usually it's guaranteed destruction to enemy tech with in it's area of effect, the cost can be rare or large amount of resources, battery energy, long cooldown, or temporarily immobilization, they need to be worth to use but not to spam. I think every faction should have one or two unique super weapons, and their tier should be above the max tier that we now have in the game and should not be obtained easily.

Here's some idea of super weapons:

GSO Nuclear Mortar
use the good old nuclear technology
basically works like other mortars in the game
will not aim at enemy if not locked-on
will homing in on locked-on target like other mortars
does what nuke does.(mushroom clouds)


GeoCorp SCU Implosion Bomb
a cannon that launch a SCU bomb to where it's pointing at for a short distance
the bomb will activate mid-air and have a start up time like a SCU
then it will create a black hole that will pull enemy techs and resources towards it
deals damage over time in it's damage zone
do much higher damage to driver's cab, AI blocks, trees and rocks
all loose block will be sucked in and send to storage
profit : )


Venture Cyclone Engine
an engine that makes your tech uncontrollable and unstoppable
when activate, it gives your tech invincibility and strong thrust with in it's duration
it also turns every one of your shield bubbles in to deadly plasma bubbles
the plasma bubble will destroy any thing that came in contact with it
the ultimate ramming weapon


Hawkeye Particle Beam Cannon
a cannon that launches a wide, continuous beam of charged particles
the beam will go through every tech in it's path,
the cannon is not able to turn on it self
need to turn the mounted vehicle in order to aim
who wants to build Space Battleship Yamato?


Hawkeye Orbital Strike Beacon
a mortar that launches a spear like beacon that call upon the stars
it locates every enemy in it's detection range
upload coordinates to the particle cannon in orbit
and the beam of precisely aimed destruction will rain


BetterFuture Peace Maker
an EMP emitter that will create a giant, non-damaging plasma bubble
any enemy that came in contact or in range will suffer all the effect below
-all weapon not able to fire during the effect
-all battery depleted and can not be replenish
-all thruster fuel depleted and can not be replenish
basically puts every enemy in range in a vulnerable state
a non-lethal super weapon

I think that any tech should only have 1 of them, and that AI's cant use them, to prevnt multitech abuse
Yeah, you're right, the point is they have to be powerful, but not abusable is also very important, I'm thinking of that it drains large chunks of your battery for each activation and also have a fair cool down after activation, I'm not completely agree with only allow having 1 on your tech but thinking of if you have more, it will punish you more for activating it.
Another idea is that you have to feed it resources in order to reload it, it can be large amount of regular resources, new rare resources that you can hardly find or buy, or complex components that you need to craft in your component factory.
And finally. I'm totally agree with you that AI should not be able to fire them.

I once proposed something similar for HE. Yet my idea was to:
1)Assemble the cannon in orbit(Special delivery-cannon like block to be fed with resources and after a required amount of them - you get yourself one very own Hammer of Dawn))
2)Every shot would need to be manufatured with the aformentioned block and sent to orbit. The orbital platform could not hold more than 3 rounds.
Also KD between shots - a minute or so.

Sounds too complicated to me, but this reminds me of the dev team approve the idea of space area, maybe we can build and remote control techs in orbit in the future.
