So, hopefully this is good news. Specs for the PS5 just came out today and what's interesting is that for both XBX and PS5, their processors received dramatic improvements over the current generation. PS5 is getting a 3.5 GHz variable frequency CPU, and the XBX is getting a 3.8GHz octocore CPU. These are roughly 3x faster than PS4/XB1. This is to say, the next gen consoles will now be on-par with mid/high range home built computers.

This is good for terratech for obvious reasons, but specifically that the block limit shouldn't be necessary on PS5/XBX. I do hope Payload is thinking about releasing the game on these systems and that they'd be willing to invest in coding for them.

Thoughts?

I'm guessing, that during that intermediary period, when both the old and new consoles co-exist, TT on the PS5/XBX will just be a port of the PS4/XB1 version. Once the old consoles are pretty much phased out, TT will get an update, which fully utilizes the new hardware, including the removal of the block-cap.
