~Powerful, super-sized do-anything (apart from crafting) hover ship "Carrier of Hope"~

Carrier of Hope.png

The Carrier of Hope is a unique tech (although it won't be for long now that I've published the snapshot) from Kodald'eg, a highly-contested mineral-rich planet close to Earth. The owner, Hilbert Shipton, is the uncontested ruler of Kodald'eg's celestite fields. He bided his time and saved up hundreds of blocks working as a janitor at the local GeoCorp base. The GeoCorp base became a Hawkeye base, then a GSO base, then a Hawkeye base again, then a Reticule Research base, then a Venture stunt park, then a GeoCorp base again, then a sanctuary for sick donkeys, then a GeoCorp base a third time, and finally a smouldering crater the size of Mount Fuji, but Hilbert managed to avoid any trouble and pick up plenty of discarded parts. When all the miners fighting over the celestite fields had run out of powerful techs, he built the Carrier of Hope, charged it up in the dead of night and struck at dawn.

A couple of withering broadsides were enough to take out most of the stronger techs. Those few still armed with heavy weapons tried their hardest to break through the Carrier of Hope's armour, but they hardly made a dent in its power supply. The Carrier of Hope sped to the celestite fields. Hilbert deftly manoeuvred it from rock to rock, riding low over the ground and using the powerful front lasers to gouge out sparkling blue lumps of valuable mineral. The miners who hadn't run away could only watch in disappointment as the two collector rings sucked up the piles of celestite and ferried them to the Carrier of Hope's on-board refinery. What could they do? One man and one tech had single-handedly ended their conflict and their chances of riches.

Size: Very large.
Weight: Very heavy.
Speed: Fairly fast.
Agility: Good at turning, but prone to sliding around.
Armament: Front-facing Streamline laser arrays, six Hunter railguns, fourteen Megaton cannons facing in various directions, four undermounded GSO missile launchers, four Rapid cannons, eight cluster missile launchers, ten Avalanche launchers, ten side-mounted beam saucers.
Defences: Comprehensive shield and repair bubble coverage. Sections of sleek, beautiful armour.
Special Abilities: Resource processing, sale and consumption on the fly. Can anchor to charge up, enabling a wide-range SCU unit to grab nearby blocks. Oh, and, um... Rocket boosters...
Weaknesses: Frontal railguns tend to catch on hills and trees, and may fall off. Undercarriage is vulnerable to attack.

~Top-of-the-range tech "Heavy Mongoose Wagon"~

Heavy Mongoose Wagon.png

The Heavy Mongoose Wagon is a stylish, modern tech for the prospector about town. It boasts no fewer than four GSO batteries, with enough power capacity to last through a maelstrom of bullets. An array of powerful STUD lasers is able to maul anything that gets in the Mongoose Wagon's way, with COIL lasers to pick off fast enemies. It can shred rocks and trees with a selection of the finest drills, tidily storing the resource chunks for later use in a handful of the GSO's patented collectors. A large block magnet allows the Heavy Mongoose Wagon to carry plenty of loose blocks. And don't worry about the weight limit; twelve cutting-edge Dirt wheels carry the Heavy Mongoose Wagon over any terrain.

Interestingly enough, the Heavy Mongoose Wagon was not originally a vehicle for prospecting. Its history is long and varied. It was first built ten years ago by Flo Ponsonby-Smythe, an explorer notorious for her refusal to take baths. Her stench was such that few people could bear to be around her, so she had to do all her exploring alone. Which was fine. She had crippling social anxiety as well. Flo precision-engineered the Heavy Mongoose Wagon to be the optimum exploration vehicle, while allowing her to gather and sell a few resources on the hoof so she could afford decent meals. She sometimes wondered why all the distant lands she discovered were already full of trading stations, but she lacked the confidence to ask anyone about it.

Flo's first trip in the Heavy Mongoose Wagon took her to an abandoned alien city in the southern jungles of Voktara-78. (PROCEDURALLY GENERATED ABANDONED CITIES PLEASE, DEVS.) Once she arrived and saw how muddy it was, her first priority was to replace the plush carpets inside the tech with something that could be wiped clean. She didn't plan on doing much walking, but it paid to be careful. Flo drove through the jungle, casually drilling through hundreds of trees and build-beaming her way over deep swamps, until she found the city. What she saw amazed her. Thousands of half-intact buildings still stood beside cracked, faded tarmac roads. Trees and bushes had claimed parts of the city, pushing their roots through cracks in the concrete and growing strong on organic matter buried beneath layers of mud.

Apart from a few animals, there was no life in the city. Flo liked it that way, since she could hardly bring herself to talk to people she knew, let alone ancient aliens. She spent days roaming through the abandoned city, drawing a map and cataloguing everything she saw, and not worrying too much about how dirty she was getting. After all, even if she tracked mud inside her tech, it could easily be wiped away. Most of what she found wasn't too special, but an enormous metal hangar gave her some pause for thought. Between rusted metal tools and long-dead computers sat dozens of angular grey-green blocks. They were old and covered in dust, but there was no mistaking the plus-shaped attachment points all over their smooth surfaces. Flo had discovered a cache of alien tech parts. (RARE, UNCRAFTABLE, HUGELY POWERFUL RELIC PARTS PLEASE, DEVS.)

Flo ran back to the Heavy Mongoose Wagon, splashing without care through all the muddy patches she'd tried to avoid on the way there. (MUD WHICH USES SOFT-BODY PHYSICS AND MAKES TECHS DIRTY, PLEASE, DEVS). She immediately slapped a large block magnet on the back of her tech and drove to the hangar. With the alien blocks in tow, Flo drove to her spaceship as fast as she could. The thought of visiting GSO headquarters and telling someone about her discovery was terrifying, but Flo knew she had to be strong. Her discovery simply couldn't go unheard, and the mighty Mongoose Wagon couldn't go another paragraph without a comprehensive stat sheet.

~Light hovering scout tech "Black Spark"~

Black Spark.png

A Black Spark is a small, cheap tech mass-produced by the Shadow Ascendancy, an offshoot of Better Future which definitely isn't evil. Swarms of them can be seen hovering around Shadow Ascendancy bases and lasering the living daylights out of anyone who gets too close. Black Sparks can strafe in all directions at speed, peppering their victims with laser fire while dodging anything short of a missile, but they can't take much of a beating before they have to fly home for repairs. The Shadow Ascendancy considers Black Sparks and their pilots expendable.

Size: Smallish.
Weight: Fairly light.
Speed: Fast.
Agility: Good.
Armament: Four Streamline assault lasers, two small disc lasers, four side-mounted laser guns.
Defences: Sleek, smooth, shiny, beautifully round and voluptuous black alloy bodywork.
Weaknesses: No shielding or repair bubbles. The cab is easily shot.
Special Features: None.

~Multidirectional combat tech "Black Star"~

Black Star.png

Black Stars are average-quality Shadow Ascendancy techs, given to operatives who have survived a few months in a Spark. A few of them can be seen around Shadow Ascendancy bases on remote planets, leading raids for resources or destroying people who come to ask for their resources back. Each one is equipped with weapons facing in all directions, making them hard to outmanoeuvre, and their thrusters can carry them faster than your average cannon-toting tank. A startling number of batteries can be packed inside a Black Star, enough to keep the shields going through a few battles, but they aren't unbeatable. After all, it's not as if the Shadow Ascendancy can only afford medium-sized techs...

Size: Medium.
Weight: Medium.
Speed: Fairly fast.
Agility: A bit drifty, but not bad.
Armament: Eight Streamline lasers and twelve Dot lasers facing in various directions, four laser rifles, two disc lasers, eight fixed-facing trapdoor lasers.
Defences: A shield and repair bubble.
Weaknesses: Limited downwards-facing weaponry.
Special Features: None.

~Elite beam-loving combat tech "Black Dome"~

Black Dome.png

Black Dome is thus far the strongest tech put out by the Shadow Ascendancy, and a bit of a wake-up call for all the people who assumed they were just messing around. It carries dozens of laser discs, capable of stripping an enemy's shields with ease at any angle. It can anchor itself to charge up and avoid drifting off. Its pleasingly round, symmetrical design belies the ruthless nature of whoever, or whatever, is in the cockpit. Which reminds me, the Black Dome has four cockpits, so one can hardly even tell which way it's facing.

Black Dome was first sighted on the planet Kukuryl, where it tore through a Hawkeye supply base and set fire to the petting zoo a short way to the north. Before they knew what was happening, the defenders and handlers were lying dazed among broken techs and frightened animals while Black Dome drifted away into the night. Before dawn the next day it had annihilated an erudite mine four hundred lightyears away. The galaxy has been on high alert for sleek, pitch-black techs since that fateful day.

Size: Large.
Weight: Heavy.
Speed: Somewhat fast.
Agility: Good enough if you keep a light hand on the control stick.
Armament: Twenty-four large disc lasers, twenty small disc lasers, thirty-two Dot lasers, eight laser rifles, eight trapdoor lasers.
Defences: Several shield and repair bubbles.
Weaknesses: Does it even have any?
Special Features: A sky anchor.

~Massive mobile scrapping vehicle "Consumer"~

Consumer.png

For ruthlessly ambitious tech magnates, the Consumer is the ultimate* money- and resource-gathering machine. It features a unique** rear-mounted five scrapper setup with magnets to attract loose blocks, enabling the Consumer to turn fallen enemies into resource chunks while anchored. Components are sold with mobile delivery cannons, while up to 540 resource chunks at a time are stockpiled to be turned into compressed resource blocks and funneled into the frontal SCU***. The Consumer can also harvest and refine resources the normal way, although the grinders are too high to hit most boulders and the downwards-facing plasma cutters are a bit sparse.

To turn enemies into piles of loose blocks, the Consumer is equipped with a dazzling array of heavy weaponry. It can fire in any direction****, endure withering storms of bullets and even heavy shelling*****, and recharge itself while anchored or by devouring trees. The Consumer makes use of a sky anchor for a small degree of manoeuvreability while anchored. Under normal circumstances, it cruises at a respectable speed, making use of fans and undermounted hover pads to take some of the burden off its wheels. It even has boosters to help it climb steep hills. What more could you need******?

The Consumer was designed by Scylla, a community leader among the galaxy's mermaids who is famed for her many tails. You wouldn't want to know what she bathes in*******. Scylla was tired of using block magnets to lug enemy parts back to her scrapping base, so she decided to put some wheels on the scrapping base********. From that moment on, there was no stopping her. She blew up hundreds of techs, scrapped them, and built herself a palace out of compressed titanite blocks.

Size: I am in AWE at the size of this lad.
Weight: About the same as a skyscraper.
Speed: Medium-slow.
Agility: Not exactly a ballerina.
Movement: Four Titan wheels and six of the huge GeoCorp wheels I don't remember the name of, plus two centrally-mounted GeoCorp tracks to prevent dragging on hills. Thirty-two internal GSO fans, four Eagle boosters, twenty or so GSO hover pads.
Armament: Eight long Streamline lasers, about thirty Megaton cannons, about sixteen GSO missile launchers, four Rapid cannons, four Zeus laser turrets, eight Avalanche launchers, twenty-four OOZEE machine guns, three massive grinders, two buzzsaws, two downwards-facing plasma cutters.
Defences: Small patches of armour in addition to resilient titanite bodywork. Full repair bubble coverage and mostly-full shield coverage.
Weaknesses: Wheels are vulnerable to boulders.
Special Features: On-board resource storage, refinery, sales, power generation, scrapping and partial crafting, rocket boosters and sky anchor.

* In comparison to other techs by Aardvark123. I mean, that flying thing by reaperx1 is obviously much better.
** In comparison to other techs by Aardvark123.
*** Blocks may need to be inserted manually.
**** Except downwards. Maybe stick some machine guns down there?
***** For a limited time. Resource chunks and low-durability parts will be lost during sustained bombardment.
****** That was rhetorical.
******* It's plain water. The mind boggles...
******** I like footnotes.

~Light GSO half-track "Little Missiler"~

Little Missiler.png

The Little Missiler was designed for reconnaissance and skirmishes around GSO outposts, keeping pirates in small techs away and acting as the first line of defence against stronger assailants. It can move quickly over rough terrain and turn on a sixpence, with comparable agility to Giselle Sokolov on her unicycle. Giselle doesn't have a missile launcher on her head, though, and the Little Missiler does, so my money's on the tech.

Size: Medium.
Weight: Medium.
Speed: Average.
Agility: Pretty good.
Movement: Four Techa tracks, four Riser wheels, two rocket boosters.
Armament: One multidirectional laser turret, two long drills, two three-pound cannons, eight ZK-47 machine guns, one eight-barrel mini-mortar.
Defences: Some patches of sloped plumbite armour, side-mounted ploughs, shield and repair bubble.
Weaknesses: Not too much battery capacity.
Special Features: None, really.

~Dual-layered Gigaton cannon truck "Medium Artillery"~

Medium Artillery.png

Medium Artillery was designed to be larger than a small artillery craft but smaller than a big one, and most would agree that it succeeds at this lofty aim. The only problem is that it's classified as "large" by my stat criteria. It is designed for frontal assaults, speeding towards the enemy (after a few minutes of painfully dismal acceleration) and delivering two fresh, piping-hot Gigaton cannon shells right to the face. A couple of missile launchers allow it to take on more nimble enemies while a selection of small arms keep it protected in all directions.

Size: Large. (Yeah, I know...)
Weight: Heavy.
Speed: Pretty decent.
Agility: Not so great.
Movement: Four Bumper wheels at the front, four MuddyDog wheels at the rear. Four Tetrox boosters to boot.
Armament: Two Gigaton cannons, two missile launchers, four front-mounted shotguns, eight side-mounted STUD lasers, four COIL lasers, two front-facing eight-barrel mini-mortars, two rear-facing shotguns, another mortar, some cannons, the works.
Defences: Fairly consistent plumbite plating. Shields and repair bubbles cover most surfaces.
Weaknesses: Incredibly poor on-the-spot turning. Topmost cannon is slightly exposed.
Special Features: None.

~Fairly good GSO tank "Berthemoth"~

Berthemoth.png

The Berthemoth is a heavy combat vehicle which features two Bertha cannons and makes use of Techa tracks to keep them pointed at the enemy. It was built to combat the Shadow Ascendancy, using its powerful shells to punch through their armour and carrying enough power to survive a full ten seconds even against Black Dome. Its many laser guns, while not a patch on what Better Future has come up with, are enough to keep it protected from flanking attacks. It can handle hills and rough terrain with ease.

Size: Large.
Weight: Very heavy.
Speed: Decent enough.
Agility: Decent enough.
Movement: Twenty-four Techa tracks in double rows, several small hover plates, two large boosters.
Armament: Two Bertha cannons, four Megaton cannons, eight STUD lasers, twelve COIL lasers, eight rock drills, eight eight-barrel mini-mortars, eight three-pound cannons, four ZK-47 machine guns.
Defences: Several patches of plumbite plating. And, of course, repair bubbles and shields.
Weaknesses: The many batteries make it a little bit explosive.
Special Features: None.

Um, that's a very well-written piece of tech description you have there, but I wasn't planning on turning this thread into a kingdom. I made it specifically for my creations and it will only confuse people if we turn it into a public tech repository on page four. You're perfectly welcome to keep formatting your tech profiles the way I do, of course, but I'd rather you set up your own thread for them.
