Well it appears the Sutherland is a bust - cannot find a way to get follow AI to actually work - it's too big, so only a few turrets are actually able to target.
So I just replaced the turrets and voila: the Gloucester was born
Gloucester.png
Over the course of an hour, it managed to narrowly pound 7 Glasgows into dust. I say narrowly b/c it went down to last 20% of battery.
It was also very, very laggy. (on lowest everything quality)

Probably could have been faster if I manually controlled it, b/c AI doesn't know how to broadside. Load it up and you'll see why a broadside is especially useful in this tech

Well given that it loads on your computer on minimum settings and that for me to play Terra Tech at all, it is on minimal settings, chances are that my computer may crash entirely upon loading it... (I need to get my other faster computer fixed!)

It looks like a durable ship given that it managed to take down a number of other ships, and it's humungous size.
It would undoubtedly beat the older SS Odyssey in terms of firepower.

It also seems that the other kingdoms don't really have any comparable naval power to the ships that @Sozin brought in... (Our kingdom could be formidable in the seas in the future!)

However, our kingdom is still growing, and the dry dock for a ship of the Gloucester's caliber may be giga-scale...
When the first is built, chances are it is guaranteed to become the flagship of the Legion Region Kingdom immediately.

And about the turreted version, I can assure you the SS Odyssey struggles with the same thing.;)

The Technocratic AI Colony.
Legionite how are we in terms of power storage and generation?

We may need a generator complex to generate enough power to keep the kingdom's facilities up and running at full capacity. My R&D facility needs a bit of power to run; just 2 GSO batteries of power. It's very power-efficient.

There are a total of 69 railguns embedded in the hull . . . on each side. My petty revenge at the Sutherland's turrets being useless, I may have gone a bit overboard in adding weapons to the frame

Edit: The Sutherland still has greater single-target damage potential ... if the turrets manage to converge and fire. B/c of the arrangement of railguns, it is physically impossible for all of them to hit unless the target is close to build limit

In other words, Sutherland is more effective in current meta (if turrets actually fire), but Gloucester is optimized for the scenario where all turrets can independently target (i *could* do it with lots of AI cabs, but that'd be annoying as hell to set all of them to follow on loading a savegame)

The Technocratic AI Colony.
Alright. Here we go.

Here's my submission for the Challenge, which is a science revamp of my other house I built:

The conveyors going above the floors are the catwalks, and I used the Ven Speedometer as a sort of scanner looking item. I used the component dongles to add an energy pylon-esque look to it. I also took some inspiration from the example and used the weapon racks and double jack brackets as railings. I really feel proud of this build and hope it wins! :D

Why use the effort for a whole new building when you can use somewhat of a template.

Tip: It looks much MUCH better when anchored, and even better on flat terrain.;)

Anybody know how to make aircraft that can somewhat dodge missiles and hawkeye cannons?
I'm trying to come up with some sort of air armament for a future planned aircraft carrier.
So far, the best I've got is "be fast, be very fast. also be small" Problem is they tend to die after a single hit (realistic, yes), and there's a rater high chance that they get hit
^mind you, this is using manual control. AI control would lead to them being slaughtered by the droves.

My old Logres is somewhat effective against glasgows under manual control - given the AI likes to orbit, to be usable turning makes it descend, and anything too low gets absolutely ******** by the AA capabilities of the glasgow and gloucester, oh boy.
Logres.png
Then I tried to make a uber-fast (160mph diving) anti-everything interceptor with cruise missiles.
fighter.png
good news: it can generally successfully evade everything.
bad news: manual control and finesse necessary. Twirling like a loon is especially useful against missiles. They spiral around you and explode like flak :p (it's more fun than the guaranteed survival by just going low and fast ... against the glasgows anyway)
neutral news: given the sheer amount of blocks in my gamesave lag inflates the failure percentage quite a bit - i'll try it with a cleaner save later

Note: attached gamesave is where i've been testing. 7 or so Glasgows at -400, -400, one Gloucester at -400,-800. When i refer to "glasgows" i refer to the convoy

Well, this Airborne AI I have made earlier closely resembles your request.
The Simple Scout AI MK2
Simple Scout AI1.png
Unfortunately, it can be easily outmatched by the bugged Autocannons (when those guns decide to bend the vertical aiming part beyond 90 degrees), or just anything that is tall enough for it to get stuck on...
It can outrun missiles while orbiting, but it has a slight chance of getting hit, and players can kite it for following them.
It goes pretty fast, at least the earlier prototype I showcased in a community core did so...

Still, it may be an improvement over the Red Bird in terms of speed and handling at the cost of durability, firepower, and overall look.

Is it just me, or do techs in enemy AI control tend to freeze in midair a lot

Edit: It appears enemies outside of attack range don't just stop moving. The game code literally stops considering them as physics objects and they just ... sit there, 0 velocity, doing nothing.
which essentially means that if ever one encounters an AI flyer, there is a very simple way to avoid them -> move out of range, sit there and fire missiles.

Very true, the bane of all enemy AI in the game.
The player cruise missiles just snipe the enemy AI before they can even react!

The Burai:

Since I was lazy, it's just a retrofitted and upgraded Glasgow. Only important change (besides shields) was removal of 4 hawkeye cannons in favor of an AA missile suite.
I wish anybody trying to kite this luck b/c it now sports avalanche launchers.

PS has anybody caught onto my naming scheme yet?

The Technocratic AI Colony.
Cool.

Well... My first order as king...

Is to step down and give my position to @Legionite as I know they will be a much better leader than I am. I don't really do well as the leader of anything unless it is math or science related. :D

I may be good at building, but I am no good at diplomacy. Congrats to them!:D

This is awesome stuff here guys! @diamondnife asked me to make a Legion Region king banner - which I am happy to do. Only thing is -- do you think it could confuse those in the forum that are unaware of this thread's existence? (Myself included before @diamondnife linked me).

I'm not sure i'd want something saying "Legion King" -- because people will undoubtedly take that as some sort of reveal or confirmation of the Legion Corporation. Could the kingdom consider a rename?

Well, I still need more community ideas for the kingdom name...
I need my kingdom to figure out a good name for this kingdom before that happens:

Citizens of this growing kingdom: The kingdom is in urgent need of your assistance in a new name (as it currently doesn't sound that "solid" or creative)
The person who comes up with a great list of possible names for this kingdom may become the Lead King or Challenge Master (depending on the person's choice)!
The person doesn't have to be a resident for this, although the winning candidate must say yes if he/she wants to become a resident for it to be viable, while completely bypassing the Tech creation requirement!
Any participants can also become a resident with approval from that participant without creating an AI Tech.

Ties can happen, so be prepared for it at the end.

Requirements for the names:
+ Must be related to AI in some way, or robots for that manner...
+ Leave out Legion in the name making
+ Cool?
+ Try to leave out "fruit names" as that is not what the kingdom was built around...
+ Try to stay within the "English" language
+ No strikethroughs as that makes it hard to read. Use that on only names that you think may need more work.
+ At least more than one unique name idea from the participants....
+ All names must be located in one post from their respective participant
+ Appropriate, of course

Bonus:
+ Colored names, or Italicized in ways
+ Interesting use of other fonts or bolding
+ Space related?
+ Made-up names?
+ maybe edgy?(It doesn't really match what I was originally aiming for but the Legion lore seems to be hinting that... ["Techno goths and internet creeps(- may be offensive to some) form a weird cult devoted to creating super intelligent AI."])- Try to prevent creating a name that sounds too edgy or Legion as the wording proves otherwise.
+ Have a 3 letter "miniature version" of the name (like GSO stands for the "Galactic Survey Organization")

Some ideas:
Technomancers?
Technolords
AI Supremacy Conglomerate - (ASC)
Robo-Techs -(may be hinting another existing franchise, so try to stay away from this)
AI Incorperated -(color scheme reminds me of a very well-known computer core manufacturer)
Industrial Automation -(sounds a bit too production-y even though a production "simulation" is used in the production of Techs in this thread)
Robofruit -("Fruit name" usage! Try to stay away from this.)
(Feel free to use these ideas for your own, or vote for these in post responses.)

Have the word "Tech" in it if you can't think of any, or use robot-related words since that is for some reason also affiliated to AI...

General Note:
Just for ***** and giggles I pitted a Gloucester against itself, both with <5% battery
After a mind-bogglingly laggy five minutes, I discovered that the design, like most of my naval designs, is very very very very very shield heavy.
Once shields go down it's very easy for ship to blow up
