Steps for adding new translations

Maybe arriving too late but I noticed that there still where (in the French translation) some issues and some text not translated. So I am asking to translate the text and fixing the issues please.

Is Manitoba French very different? How many variations of Canadian French are there?

Even within Winnipeg, there are different variations. Nothing is extremely different; the main differences are the degree of adherence to grammar rules, or whether or not certain words are mashed together or pronounced differently or whatnot. I've never actually played the game in French, and she's not a gamer at all.
In short, there are as many types of French as there are places that speak it, but everybody will understand the France version no problem.

Heya, thanks for your trust and I will get started translating into my mother tongue right after these few questions .

Technical
Currently the workbook on my end looks like this:


1) The introductory e-mail says I should put my name into column 'I', currently seems to be column H
2) What is "Char limit" (Used / Used Console) in column D?
3) Some forum posts talk about Google translation, I don't see such thing anywhere. Guessing some entries are pre-filled with GT in other languages? Just curious.
4) Many Czech translations are nice, but there are some really bad ones (i.e. Take Snapshot is literally translated as "take a screenshot") as well as many inconsistencies. The 'CZECH' sheet is locked. How do we update existing translations?

Language
1) Is there a special reason why all words in the English block names are capitalized? It is inconsistent in our translation, the capitalization does definitely look kinda weird to me both in English and Czech but still better than switching from one block to another. I noticed they kept the same pattern in German as well (where officially only substantives should be capitalized), so will probably do the same thing. Just wondering if there is some specific reason other than "devs thought it was coolerI"?
I'll also try asking in our forum thread, but someone did a year ago without an answer, so...
2) How do you guys deal with the "made up product names" (like "Cruz" or "NEEDLE")? Noticed some translation attempts in German, it could be fun trying to localize those cool names, but for now probably going to stick with the original for consistency.

Hi Karel

Welcome to the TT Translator team. Let me answer your questions.
1) Yes, Column H please (my mistake)
2) Char limit is not used, so we use the column to track which strings are actually used.
3) Some time in the past, we had Google Translated placeholder strings in, but these have now been removed.
4) The CZECH sheet is now unlocked to allow you to update existing translations.

Language:
1) It's just a style issue to capitalise words. You can decide not to do this for Czech if you feel that would be better.
2) "Made up product names" can be swapped out with similar Czech words if you prefer. A like for like translation isn't a must so whatever you feel would be fun for Czech players.

Awesome, thanks @saiwun for the quick and clear reply.
I just edited a few existing translations which were most apparent (main screen). Let me know if I should be setting some special flags or adding comments for those in the future, not sure if/how you process them.

BTW as you probably know the XP bar texts seem to be hardcoded graphics and therefore not part of the strings, same for all languages from what I have seen.

hi so what document do you translate in also how can i translate a language that is not in the game as of yet maybe you have a document for all the english and i can translate it somehow since i really wanna support it by translating to danish not that i dont understand english but maybe if some younger people played it they could understand
