not really. we all have a substantial interest in a crafting update, but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. We all have a very big interest in legion and space junkers, but we never got them. We all asked for artillery and bvr(beyond visual range) fights, but we never got that. I really don't see how that asking for space age is going to help us get it

My personal opinion: Crafting update first. I really want to see a better crafting system (and I know, everyone says that, but still I want it).

Well, to be honest with you I am so into professions in games, that I even bought New World just to see what crafting in this game is. Good point by you, hope we'll get some improvements.

I am a quite new member here, and I have searched a lot proposals for space, science, etcetera.
So, there is not much to be eager for the soon coming updates to make those ideas true. Patience.
Any repository of the wish list?
Thank you.

Since we’re on the subject of space, I’d like to ask: how would it work in TT? To try to make the main world spherical would basically be rebuilding the game from the ground up. So probably not that.

A simple implementation I suppose you could do would be to have reduced gravity after certain altitudes, accompanied by a change in the background to look more space-y.

Another somewhat simple implementation could be somewhat like Destiny’s space. In Destiny, you’re not actually playing in space, so to speak, but you travel to different planets, moons, places, etc.

I think yeah, it does need a complete redo of the game, but the game seriously needs one, just like I said on other posts. It would also be a good idea for the devs to also chain completely game-changing(literally) updates like the CrAfTiNg UpDaTe.

I also think that it would work like this, drag would be less the higher you go, the lift would be less the higher you go, propellers would be less effective the higher you go, which all equal zero at some altitude(dependent on what planet). Ion thrusters would be the only constant propulsion other than rockets, but with zero drag, there is basically no difference. Re-entry would work by applying fire damage on the blocks that are on the outside of the spaceship and the damage would be based on how fast you are going.

Thank you for answering.
There are two parallel options that I had in my mind, for to start:
1. Launch and land in a relatively small area above the ground, suborbital (like a nano launch) which you mentioned in 'A simple implementation..'.
2. Zero-gravity travel and maneuvering with different engines performance.

As cool as that sounds, I fear it's a bit to ambitious. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, but if Payload does decide to add space travel, it will probably include structures that send you planet to planet through an animation with. If we're talking about our deepest desires, I'd like a biome of "deep space" where you require flight blocks to move (as you aren't bound to the ground anymore) and space pirates. Deep space would be used as the hub of inter-planetary travel, getting close to a planet initiates entry. This would force the player to explore the wonderful world of zg by building spaceships and other unique veichles!

Space honestly would be really cool as it’s own separate game. “Astrotech” they could call it, supposing the name isn’t already taken.

Basically all the same sandbox feel as TerraTech, but in a zero-G-ish space environment. Probably set the scene in a solar system. Could also make it a little tycoonish by contracting prospectors to mine on planets for you.
