hey guys as you know if bin checking aloud of things and keeping my eye out for all and any points that needs a fix in game as out game

so i found some new/old points that needs to get a look ad
fist things first, this is bin bodering me for some time now the reposting other peoples creations.
i know you need to be proud that your creation is being used but iets totally not cool if your creation is being reposted with no new work on it only a difrend name and then they get the props for it. as for my self i some times spend 2 3 hours building something just to get the right look im looking for and then see some one els get all the credits for it this happend again with my last sumo build that i was making during my last stream this is starting to really bother me and it's cousing me to not share any new builds and if so posting a screen shot and not a .png file that can be used because seing a post from terratech with a vine of your build with the text some rendom ass person on insomnia that never played this game made this thats something that really pisses you off if you wore streaming the game and spending all that time on it. sorry if i sound a little bit pist but it's not the first time and i know that more people have the same thing and i don't feel like calling it out every single stream that the person your calling the creator is not the real creator and then need to tell and prove to you guys ho the real creator is that means for me to keep my eyes on all the msg that are coming in and out.
so put a water mark or some shit on the saves or something to get a fix on this because this is not something that you need to be proud of it's something to get lazy people to get all the props that the hard working people put there time and energie in!

oke thats it the rest of the points that i have i will put in a other post so we can get this to the atension of you guys and then delete the post because i know im going a little to over the top but this shit needs to stop or people like me will stop posting and working and spending all that time in the game or in streams/video's and all that

mvg,
neo

Neo, Thank you for raising this, I personally understand how you must feel about this, When I make and upload designs I know that anyone can pick it you, "Modify it" and tweet it themselves. On the back of others getting the recognition of your design and hard work. This might happen, however we are uniquely benefited by having the knowledge that our designs are so widely recognised for their brilliance.

In short make sure you do share your designs and link them on here. We all know our own work and it's not like we a losing out ?

What about a small grey watermark on the bottom left each time you save or share it it says something like "Original Design by [...]" So the name of whoever build the vehicle the first time will be used in the watermark. Everyone else can still modify it just the origin of the original build is known now.

Sadly this wouldn't work because once you imported and then modified you would create a new Watermark.

Naah, the devs have already implemented that the game can rebuild a vehicle just from a picture so it should be easy for them to implement the watermark also on that picture. So it can't be overwritten. Whoever takes the first picture will use the "Watermark spot" so it can't be taken later on and not overwritten. Easy as that :p

But let's say the entire design is changed except for the base ? Will

But now we have a situation where how many changed will it take before to modifications change the design enough that it becomes yours?

I'll give my personal opinion about that, having a watermark is not a bad idea, and I feel like it should always be there in some shape or form no matter how much you change the design since you weren't the person that built the original. If you want something yours you should build in yourself from the start. Also if you don't care about it there could be an option not to watermark the design so others can mod it later.
Again that's just my personal thought about it ^^

This is why it's good to have a debate about these things. I am not against it I am just putting across another opinion, a watermark is a great idea.

Hey Guys,

Yes, you're right Neo, it is a problem we are aware of and want to solve. The watermark is not a bad idea, I can see it working in some cases, but also upsetting others who load a vehicle then start heavily modding it over a long time and forget that it came from someone else's base, only to find that they now have a fixed watermark of someone else's name on their hard earned creation.

It also wouldn't solve the problem of people making an excellent design that is made of relatively few parts (for flying or something), and then people simply re-building their own version, exactly the same.

Another possibility is to have a database of each of the possible vehicle save files and register names against each unique vehicle save as it first appears. Then when people build something it would check the database and credit the original creator even if it were a fresh build.

We could also retain watermarks if building from a load of someone elses, and then abandon watermarks if more than 20% of the original vehicle save file is changed...

We will definitely get creator's names appearing alongside the loading from all tweets at some stage. But please bear with us. It is important, but we also have big parts of the game to get into order too.

This seems like the best solution, I mean you pretty much saw the same thing I did, I suppose that design stealing is going to be part of our issue for a little while let's just hold out Neo, we know who the real creators are!

Sounds good. As for now, we should just be respectful and give credit to the person.

I think the watermark idea could work but there would have to be several types for the different extents to which the designs have been modified.
0% modifications then the watermark should read " <enter vehicle name here> was created by <enter name here>
1% - 20% modifications then the watermark should read " This is a slightly modified version of <enter vehicle name here> created by <enter name here>
21% - 50% modifications then the watermark should read "This is a moderately modified version of <enter vehicle name here> created by <enter name here>
51% - 70% modifications then the watermark should read "This is a heavily modified version of <enter vehicle name here> created by <enter name here>
71% - 100% modifications then the watermark should read "This design was inspired by <enter vehicle name here> created by <enter name here>
71%-100% (ONLY applicable if a design was imported THEN modified)

I hope this helps to solve the problem although it might be hard to implement
