Speaking of small techs, in my older techs I built an "Escape Pod" which I could detach and fly if my tech ever got damaged to the point where it's unable to defend itself. The pod's cab was the controlling cab for the tech, and was held in the middle of the tech and connected by brackets. It also had a shield and repair bubble incase an enemy landed a shot in there. In one of my heavily armored techs, I put a tiny car inside. When I disconnected it though, the remains of my tech fell and were scattered around me so I was unable to escape. And this is why all of your escape vehicles should fly.

And, for those that want to play with the new toys, here is a save with everything discovered.
but not unlocked.
It's a modified version of my actual game save :p

Pink Kittys Perfectr.png

So, here is where i'm stashing my entry for the speed-fabricating challenge.
Pink Kitty's Perfectly Polished Pink Producer

Springer wheel: 30 seconds
Gatling gun: 1min 12seconds

Instructions: there's enough resources to build either, (but not both) in the middle.
Just put on whichever fabricator you need, and click 'craft'.
Let the resources process before you click 'craft' or you'll stuff up the refining.
This is likely to go for anyone else's design to.

Edit: Now that we're testing from raw resources, i changed to a simple snapshot, rather than a save.
I'm sure you can figure out where the resources go.

Just swap fabbers to build the other block. They go in the same place.

So, given that i might vanish at any moment.

And given the questions that most people ask me, at least twice a week, i figured i'd post the guide that i normally PM.

How to do things with save files:

Something bugged out in your save?

Just can't find those blocks, despite the dev's insistence that you can find them all?

Just want a 'creative save' because you don't have R&D, and just wanna build?

Wanna try out the new blocks in an actual game, rather than just tinkering for a few minutes in R&D?

Here's how you do it:

First, download Gzip. it's an old dos-based prog.

Tiny, downloads in seconds.

Yes, Gzip specifically. other programs don't work.

[not including a link, don't want you to think i'm giving you virus']

Rename your save file as .zip

open it with your favourite zip prog (not Gzip)

Edit it with your fav .txt editor. (I use Notepad++)

When you’re done, drop the edited file on the Gzip prog, and it will zip it.

Rename it .sav

Load and play!

Now, as to the editing part:

scroll to the bottom of the enormous text file.

this is a list of every block in the game, by number.

'0' stands for 'undiscovered'

'2' stands for 'discovered'

I don't know what '1' stands for.

So, replace anything at the bottom of the file that says ':0' with ':2' and it will be available in the terminal when you go to buy.

Keep in mind, you may have to reach the right grade to be able to buy those blocks.

This may also interact with the new mission system in weird ways. You have been warned!

Additionally, the Devs will not be pleased if you do this, make a mess, and ask them for help. Doing this essentially voids your warranty.

the XP and corp level is just above the list of discovered blocks.

Do a search for "m_CurrentXP".

You'll find 4 of them, one for each corp.

Everything you care about is within a few lines of that point.

[m_InventoryList] That's the inventory.

[m_BlockStates] Those are the individual block unlocks.

Sorry, that used to be right at the bottom.
LAst update, or maybe the one before, they moved it to [close to] the top.

If this is too complex for you, don't muck with it.

Else it'll go poo.

Also, make backups.

Using EXP blocks in the campaign:

It's also possible to get the new Blocks into the game, if you have access to them in creative.

Go into creative and make a tech that's a huge block of tank tracks, hooks or whatever you want.

Save and exit.

Edit the save file and find [m_IsPlayerFocus":true]

That's your tech. Copy it.

Open the campaign save and search for your current tech. Paste.

Save and zip/rename.

Done!

The tech:

search for [m_IsPlayerFocus":true] without the brackets [].

This is the tech you're driving.

Copy the coords from the campaign save to a notepad or something.

["m_Position":{"x":619.267639,"y":-36.3510132,"z":4466.888},"m_Rotation":{"w":-0.509085357,"x":-0.01855004,"y":-0.8603388,"z":-0.0174706876},"m_Velocity":{"x":-0.0009353226,"y":0.04912899,"z":-0.004468399},"m_AngularVelocity":{"x":-0.0120519307,"y":6.329772E-05,"z":-0.0195417162},]

Copy the tech from the creative save over the one from the campaign.

this is the top of the tech data:

{"$type":"ManSaveGame+StoredTech, Assembly-CSharp","m_TechData":{"m_Name":"Mobile Shoetree1","m_BlockSpecs

+++Snip!+++

"m_TrackStates":0,"m_HasBeenSpawned":true}

And this is the bottom.

Make sure you get everything between the brackets {}, and don't add any extra spaces or characters.

Copy the old coords over the top of the new ones [otherwise you'll have a lot of driving to do.]

save and rezip, and you're done!
