Welcome to the Red Team of AMD! You are with us now brother! (I use a relatively old AMD FX-8350 8-Core.) If you're planning to use your PC for video editing, you might need more RAM than that. In my industry, we recommend 32-64gb worth of RAM.
Not that hard once you get the basics right. I've built my first PC when I was 13 - that's how easy it is. But the hardest part would probably be money. If you're going for top-of-the-line specs, best be prepared to burn your whole wallet.
IF you follow directions. Easy, and very fun. Nope, Ryzen processors are freaking godlike. this one is 6 core 12 thread. Look up the benchmarks it's actually insane
Yes, I'm aware of how powerful it is. But storing temporary information (RAM) is different from processing said information (Processor), that's why we commonly use 32gb for video editing and such, because effects and pixel information takes a lot of memory.
ah right. I'm not very knowledgeable about video editing. So no I won't need it. I already sold my kidney for the ram by itself xD
Meh. It was the same price as all the other harddrives. So I sprung for it :C Rainbow six, TT, Space Engineers. That kinda stuff
Funny thing is - my 5-year old rig still beats yours on a single-thread CPU performance benchmark - which is Terratech's most limiting performance factor . AMD Ryzen 5 1600X - Pass Mark 1,975 - $220 USD - released 2017 Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz - Pass Mark 2,028 - $275 USD - released 2012 It's amazing how almost no progress was made on a single-thread speed in 5 years. The only CPU's I would consider upgrading to for gaming now are these: Intel Core i7-8700K @ 3.70GHz - 2,723 - $369.99 Intel Core i7-8700 @ 3.20GHz - 2,620 - $369.99 Intel Core i7-7740X @ 4.30GHz - 2,618 - $342.99 Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.20GHz - 2,583 - $326.99 https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html In fact, there are still few games which can truly benefit from multi-core to a full extent. And even games which were designed by leading studios for multi-threading from outset still tend to have uneven thread load, usually there is still one "primary" thread with heaviest load, which makes single-core speed extremely relevant and any cores beyond 4th largely redundant for gaming.
The ryzen has 2 more cores than you CPU tho. and I paid less. But yeah the single core performance is a bit upsetting. But It still won't have an issue running terratech at high graphic settings.
Nice rig tho, especially the video. Maybe since you've got that cool cooler for your CPU you should study a bit about overclocking and tinker with it to boost single-core performance by 20% or something
Oh yeah. There's a reason I went for the 1600X and not just the 1600. I wanted a better cooler. So yeah overclocking will be really nice.
No not the 7740X please (you know ... needs an X299 Motherboard for 300$) The CPU is more than enough as soon as the game is Optimized and even now it works fine unless you build a new Cannonz Tech. The i7 8700k is just the best for Gaming right now, but as long as you're playing at 60Hz basically any new i3 / Ryzen Processor does just fine.
Hey that's not bad. I didn't want to compromise and was tired of bad hardware. So I went all out with the cash I had :C
I think you should've built in a Phanteks P400. Looks a lot nicer in comparison, but that's just my opinion.
