imo, how the build UI looks or feels is secondary compared to providing more information about the blocks. You could widen the text box that appears when you hover over a block and add health/mass/damage/speed indicators, etc.

The old UI was too small, the new one is a tad too large.

Coming back to TT after quite some break I only got a little shocked about that new UI, but I actually like it.

Though I find there are quite a few things that could be improved about how the user is able to interact with it.
Some examples:
  • the 'search' icon opens the search bar but the focus isn't moved there and it needs to be selected manually for input.
  • keyboard navigation in UI

Are there plans on getting such things improved in the future? Or is the redesign of the UI only on the graphical side and that's it?

My opinion of the UI:

Likes:
The radar is awesome, I love the change in opacity and new colors.
The size of the XP bars/licences in the upper left corner and the way they "feel" when you mouse over them.

Dislikes:
The color white on everything. White is way to bright and blinds me every time i open the menus durring in-game night time.
The size of all of the buttons everywhere. It feels like I'm trying to play a mobile game. The elements are too spaced out and too large making it feel like I need to have a touch screen in order to play this game.
The inventory window. Icons are WAY over-sized. It is a chore to build anything now with how far and much you have to move the cursor.
Scrolling in the inventory (gif included). The bottom of the window acts different than the top.
Many more, but those listed above are my biggest concerns.

The bottom items just "pop" in/out instead of sliding in/out like the top does.

With 1.3.8, the opacity has been tweaked, so the colors of the background bleed into the UI, fixing the problem of the blinding whiteness. A huge, HUGE improvement for sure... which is why it breaks my cold, tiny obsidian heart to say: it's not enough! The UI still looks like frosted glass. You know, the kind they make to deliberately obscure the view of something?

I'll just show you:

Currently, the UI feels like a 4 or a 3. What I would want is a 1.

Stranger still, is that some elements of the HUD are still blinding white, like the XP tracker. the mission tracker and oddest of all, the Altimeter (and fuel and power gauges, but those are small enough to ignore). Why?

EDIT: On second look, the mission tracker isn't nearly as bright as I first thought... I don't know what to tell you, I guess, I need my eyes examined.

Another thing! While it has nothing to do with the look of the interface, it's still more annoying than I initially thought: Please, make the "Good morning" massage dismiss-able again. I know, you got rid of the "X", because it was too small for the Switch touch-screen, but waiting for it just feels tedious. Just make the whole message box clickable!

It should have all the information about the block while looking in your inventory like how much health it has or how much dps and damage per bullet or laser or rocket but you would still need to ask others for advanced information

I would like to extend this to every pop-up in the campaign! Plus, please make it so that if we tick "skip tutorial", these messages don't appear at all. I mean, choosing to skip the tutorial heavily implies, that you know what you're doing.

I want add some new functions for new UI.
1.UI hide option in game setting, hide all of buttons and tips on screen, including all of those informations. This function is really important for those who can make video for terratech.
2.Custom item list, which can mark some item as favorite. Also can set how many parts in a row, because I played so long time with new UI and I find that 2 parts in a row is a little bit narrow, especially when I find those BF blocks.
