Since Venture race tracks just spawn into a world when selecting their mission, why not expand off of those objects that can be spawned to make invasion installation missions?
The Pillars Biome also proves that having monuments spawn in specify positions is possible.

Link to originating idea post [>Here<]
I guess the best option would be a bunch of monuments with a bunch of little tunnels for Techs to explore, randomly spawning in a pyramid formation(squared(same length and width, but varying hight values like 5m, 10m, 15m, 20m, etc, with one or two monuments with patchable tunnels though them) modular monuments that fit together and ramps for 3D navigation) to make a maze. Some enemy Techs randomly spawn in there to make it a challenge.
There could also be treasure at the end for those who manage to make it through.

The Ancient Ruins biome sounds like the name.

If anybody is interested, I can make concept art.
I just had an awesome idea inspired by this post!

So the dispensers return to Campaign mode, but you must find them within the rare Ancient Ruins Biome!(as they only exist for the sole purpose of distributing a rare block)
Each dispenser contains a singular special super block that cannot be crafted, bought, or scavenged by any means from any normal enemy Tech (unless you are in creative, then you can obtain it through the extras tab in block painting).
An excellent example would be some sort of odd stone obelisk that can be placed on your Tech that fires a very powerful constant laser when fired.
These aren't sellable, or scrap-able, or durable(very old objects), but they are very powerful in what they do, so they must be handled with care.

Basically, Alien Artifacts.
A What happens is a bunch of pre-made monuments place themselves in a sort of grid to make a maze. Premade ramps also allow it to go 3d.

This also opens up a whole new region of possibilities, allowing for Corp specific missions:

Hawkeye "Smash and Grab" missions that involve navigating a "monument-made" enemy base (placed in unspawned terrain areas to prevent issues with player Techs) and blowing up the Techs within, to get a rare (and expensive) block delivered to a HK NPC.
Something like this:
HK^3 Smash and Grab

Description:
A bunch of Hawkeye Rebels have stolen
our covert Intelligence! Time to smash
those rebels and grab the intelligence
back! Don't lose(destroy) the Intelligence
or it is a mission failure!

Objectives:
  • Meet [>Insert NPC name here<] at the Mission Marker
  • Blast your way into the rebel base (mission marker is at Rebel Installation Entrance)
  • Attack your way to the Intelligence
  • Grab the Intelligence
  • Run before the base explodes! (>Insert Timer Here<)
  • Return to [>Insert NPC name here<] and hand him/her/it the Intelligence

__________________________
Rewards:
HK 3000 XP
BB 1000

You would have to go to a Trading Station to initiate the mission, then go to it's first respective mission marker to begin (the NPC).
It would start off with "[>Insert NPC name here<]- You have to infiltrate this facility and destroy the Techs within to get back our intel!"
Marker points to the "Rebel Installation Entrance"
Blast the entrance open!(It is basically a flat wall tech with a bunch of explosives behind it)
Battle enemies to get to the mission marker
Grab the Intelligence!
Escape the Rebel Installation before the self-destruct countdown reaches zero!
Ends with the whole "monument base" exploding, deleting all of the installation monuments, leaving the area clean of unwanted obstructions. The player then goes to the mission marker to put the intelligence on an NPC, sort of like how one of the Crafty Mike missions work. The NPC then flies away on his/her's/it's helicopter blades to end the mission.
(the enemy installation monuments would all have an open roof and allow camera clipping to reduce camera issues)

Reticule Research could have research missions, where you have to go to specific spots in an existing Ancient Ruins biome to "scan alien writing/get rock samples/take a picture". Of course, you don't actually take a picture or any of that stuff, but just drive to that location to do it automatically with no animation.

Edit: Made it slightly easier to understand.

How about a special "Cab" That has a camera button, a mini-radar, is 3x3x3 big, has a miniature RR weapon (maybe also something like a drill), a small collector, medium built-in wheels and - strangely enough - it has no attach points, basically a standalone laboratory for grade 1 and up RR prospectors. (It should be reasonably tough) You can store it in your inventory and place it (not in 350m distance from the mission) You must use these in these kinds of missions. (You could get better laboratories if you have a better lincence, maybe include battery power and a repair bubble later on) You would get it IF you have unlocked RR and have an inventory. You can always buy these (shouldnt be cheap though). For the mission you could scan the area, collect a odd ore in your collector or take x pictures from a certain structure (Like mentioned above) Sometimes if you have photographed the ancient ruins, a defence system will get triggered (happens extremely rarely if you dont do it in a mission), Guards come and/or ancient turrets get activated (they will be harmless if they are inactive and will get active if that event gets triggered or you attack them) and identify you as a threat before hunting you down. They will stop following you if you leave the mission area or get destroyed.
Sorry for the wall-of-text but a idea popped into my head.

Interesting. To expand on this: How about a new biome that is essentially a maze of large, underground tunnels that occasionally open up to the surface (with cliff faces that are almost like swiss cheese with tunnels)? I'm imagining tunnels through rock and/or dirt that are either naturally-formed caves or (supposedly) created by giant worms that happen to be smooth enough to make for an excellent racing environment.

TerraTech doesn't do 3d terrain well(as in terrain that's under other terrain). See, the monuments are hollow inside. I don't know exactly why, but I'd guess it's because: except for player blocks, TT (terrain) is built using flatish planes that are connected together. So making stuff with walls is hard.
