is useless as it is now. Forum wanted it as air to air weapon and with how it behave now it can’t be used at all even on ground tech that turn little slower.
Question: can you make this to work only if fly mode is active? I think you can.
When you do that increase range and damage and fire rate of this machine gun. Only after this it will be useful in game.
This was suggested as dogfight weapon, not as normal gun.

At the very least, it should have a very high rate of fire, such as approximately 3-4/second. Being a fixed gun, a high rate of fire would be very difficult to exploit, so this should be an easy balancing solution.

Keep the damage the same, but remove the gravity bullet drop and increase the shell speed.

Fast laser-like shots work the best compared to the ballistic weapons.

The current best dogfighting weapon is the railgun, so maybe tweak the VEN Fixed Rifle so that is shoots bullets fast like the railgun, but without the resulting explosion and faster fire-rate.

This is what would make the fixed machine gun an actual useful air-to-air weapon. It needs a really fast, railgun-like bullet speed. When planes fight each other in TT, it's extremely difficult to hit your enemy because you very rarely get close enough for the weapons to start locking on, and the planes fly too fast for normal bullets to hit them. However, really fast bullets means that basically anything in front of the plane will be hit almost straight away when you fire the weapons - the planes won't have enough time to fly away. Without a fast bullet speed, the fixed machine gun will be absolutely trash in air-to-air combat.

also it kinda needs the accuracy fixed, as the shots tend to go way off sometimes, which kinda doesnt make sense since fixed machineguns shouldnt suffer that much from recoil...
