This week's Community Core we're asking you to build techs to populate the game. That's right! The techs you build will be added to the game as enemy AI.

This week we want you to use as many new Hawkeye blocks as possible. This includes, but isn't limited to:
    • Hawkeye Four Block
    • Hawkeye Six Block
    • Hawkeye Monster Mortar
    • Hawkeye Warhorse Wheel
    • Hawkeye Small Armour Plate
    • Hawkeye Medium Armour Plate
    • Hawkeye Large Armour Plate
    • Hawkeye Notch Armour Plate
    • Hawkeye Axis Shotgun
    • Hawkeye Big Daddy Wheel
    • Hawkeye DFA Mortar
    • Hawkeye Ion Battery
    • Hawkeye Mk3 Battleship Cannon
    • Hawkeye Zeus Laser Cannon
It has to follow these rules:
    • Must only use Hawekeye blocks.
    • Must be able to move in a stable and consistent manner on the ground, with wheels. No planes or funky hover techs please.
    • It must be able to 'compete' with a tech of equal value. So if you use expensive blocks it should be able to go toe-to-toe with a tech of similar value.
Attach snapshots or game saves of Techs you want to be included in the next week's Community Core stream below.

You can watch them in action on Wednesday 17th October from 4pm BST here:

    www.twitch.tv/terratechgame

A limit of no more than ONE snapshot or 4 Techs in a GAME SAVE per player, please :)

NOTE: INSTRUCTIONS for how Techs should be shown must be displayed in RED. Text that is not marked this way will likely be ignored. All instructions must be written in no more than 140 characters. Attaching a video of the Tech in action to your thread is strongly advised.

This thread will be archived just before the stream to make way for the next wave of Community Core submissions.

Is there any chance you guys (e.g. @zanzistar) will confirm the corporation allocation for some of the new EXP blocks going to HE, if you'd like to get ahead on putting them into enemy techs, of course? (E.g. Plasma Jaws, Dual Auto-Canons and a Gyro seem very likely.)

Thanks, Matt! Sounds like fun. :)

I've never seen or heard of a "four block" or "six block" for Hawkeye. Is that in an unstable version or something?

Also, it's Hawkeye, not Hawekeye. ;)

    Ok, here ya go.

FunkyTonk is a Hawkeye funky tonk.
It is entirely a Hwk Grade 2 funky tonk.

    Literally unreadable... :p;)

For those more visual thinkers - the blocks listed above, right, and others that I think are too recent to have been included in (many) previous ComCore submissions, left. Please correct me and say if the extra are undesirable (don't want to lead people off course) :

Edit: oh, the block magnets too...?

I researched it and it looks like the Hawkeye 4 and 6 blocks are only in the Unstable 1.0.0.2 and later. I only want to run the stable client, so I guess I'll pass on using those two blocks.

Definitely easier for me to build pure Hawkeye, but I really miss having GeoCorp batteries and a few other quality of life items... like gyros.

Edit: Updated the snapshot to include underside wheels so the tech can actually turn reliably, even on the move.

Undertaker: A straightforward tracked vehicle that's a bit of a glass cannon. Lots of weaponry with not much in terms of battery power.

@Matt here are some(a) general "guidelines" to how you should "test" our submissions.

Be like the AI, and follow these 2 simple steps:
1: Do stupid things while driving around. (driving up steep slopes, ramming yourself into rocks, get stuck in build beam, etcetera)
2: Do stupid things while in combat. (go in endless circles as you try to get behind the enemy, shoot when your weapons are out of range, use flamethrowers incorrectly, etcetera)

Feel free to completely ignore these.

Designed as an anti-air tech, since most techs are defenseless against anything flying.

You should charge it. but I doubt anything will survive long enough to damage it except the missile turret. Originally I tried remaking one of my tanks for it to be 100% hawkeye. several attempts later I had a tank that suffered osteoarthritis and obesity when compared to its parent tech. I have 3 submissions:
    • AtD Jedenerste (yay-den-er-steh) So called because it features every HE grade 1 block, and nothing higher, Completely Grade 1. I did my best to make it look sporty with exposed 'cylinders' and large exhausts. Drives completely normal, appears to drift slightly when turning if you look for it enough and especially when boost is applied Video: https://imgur.com/a/cnPnCkC
    Jedenerste.png
    • AtD PNZRSTDT Schildkröte (sh-ihld-kroe-teh) Extra points if you know what the acronym is a reference to! This guy has a big wheelbase and a raised front and back making him the most climbing-savvy of all these techs. If you knock out some of the broadside shotguns on this, it exposes machine guns. Punishment for damaging it. Also completely HE Grade 1. Drives completely normal, is decently good at climbing. Video: https://imgur.com/a/yRHcVJY
    PNZRSTDT Schildkröte.png
    • AtD Uncle of Big Tony just for funsies :p Drives completely normal, but is susceptible to tipping over backwards. Video: https://imgur.com/a/rHeWoYj

    I lied, here's another tech:
    • AtD Luxian Landbarge a little grade 1 harvester with a lot of carry space. Drives normally but strangely drifts too, especially when boost is applied.
    Luxian Landbarge.png

I also forgot to make a .sav with them all (instead of individual snapshots, but here's one now: (Includes all 4 of my techs.)

From my limited testing I can say that this thing loses to everything else with a similar value. PROVE ME WRONG!

Definitely not drawing attention to my updating of submission to get people to check it out. Nope nopity nope, wouldn't do that. Not at all. Definitely not what I'm doing right now.

I have produced four techs which should work well as enemies. They'll be in the attached save.

    SAVE file with 4 techs.

Take a quick look around each, close up.
Pick one to attack the 4 enemy clone versions, behind:

    2018-10-16 Save file preview.jpg

    (1) "Hexapod T08A2" - The main attraction. A tribute to the tank at the end of "Ghost in the Shell" 1995.

It uses 2 Dual Auto-canons, because they just fit there so damn well. But I've included an alternative version without any EXP parts (in the Zip file), in case this is not acceptable.

    ZG HE3 Hexapod T08A2 [EXP Autocanons].png

    (2) "Flatboy" - Tribute to the UEF "Fatboy" unit in Supreme Commander (RTS).

    (3) "Flatbed Res"-ource truck - can easily be edited to change which resource types it's offering up (feel free to change/copy/rename this tech, as wanted).

    (4) "Diamondback R" - A light infantry unit with heavy wheels and block magnets for salvage, at the back.

All my submitted techs are in this Zip file download, including 10 11 others for @zanzistar's consideration (not for showing in ComCore).

All can be seen in (and downloaded from) this Imgur album, too.

Bonus tech submissions, for @zanzistar's consideration (not for show on stream): Zip download. (As linked above, too.)

    2018-10-16 Bonus techs.jpg

I had a lot of 'down time' this week, and a bunch of ideas and inspirations saved up, so got extra buildy...

"Scorpion Tank" - from Halo, with a bunch of non-canonical light weaponry added, as per the request.

"AK_Tank" - from the Terminator (or an impression of it). I couldn't manage to get the dual auto-canons slung under in a pretty way, but I like the way the new armour plate works as a bracket, here.

In testing, it was prone to toppling forward/backward on steep hills (in comedic fashion!).

"HE no Compromise" - a remake of the menu brawl tech "Hawkeye Compromise", with the GSO batteries replaced with new Hawkeye blocks.

"HAWK_TANK Reborn" - a recreation of the menu brawl tech "HAWK_TANK", reworked with batteries, bubbles and extra topical weapons.

"Monster-Mini" - the smallest tech I could reasonably build around a monster mortar. Not shield but level 2 parts only and packs a punch for it's size.

    Remainder shown in later post....

20181012233517_1.jpg Ignore the Battlegun submission (big one) as that is just a reference to From the Depths. Do random stuff.
Everyone who knows and loathes the Railgun Porcupine in MP will now be able to experience it in normal campaign battles.
