    Community Core is BACK!!

    Attach snapshots or game saves of Techs you want to be included in the Community Core stream!

    Community Core is a live stream where we showcase the best creations players have made in TerraTech.

    You can watch them in action on Wednesday 12th September from 4pm BST here: www.twitch.tv/terratechgame

    A limit of no more than ONE snapshot or 4 Techs in a GAME SAVE per player, please :)

    NOTE: INSTRUCTIONS for how Techs should be shown must be displayed in RED. Text that is not marked this way will likely be ignored. All instructions must be written in no more than 140 characters. Attaching a video of the Tech in action to your thread is strongly advised.

    Techs will not be added to the game until we feel the population needs refreshing!

    This thread will be archived just before the stream to make way for the next wave of Community Core submissions.

    "Missile Dropship" - death from above! [VTOL]

    [Shift] to take off - feather for altitude.
    Hover-bug steering controls (like being on the ground).
    Position high, directly above enemies.

    Took quite a while to work up and balance function with looks. I'm aiming to have it in a video some day (and it's bigger brother). I'll admit some styling inspiration from @-=ROOSTER=-'s VTOLs.:)

    is this for multi-techs? or will people literally put 4 techs in a save?

    This one is enemy for maxed players!
    BTW AI can drive it (without improving AI) and it will be challenging opponent.

    Some weird bug happened, when this tech can not balance itself after loading. I added 2 exploding bolts to it, so if it can't be balanced just press X and after this tech will level itself... have no explanation why that is working.

    Here's a multitech with rotating battleship cannons.

    Instructions:
    Activate the explosive bolt then p
    lace an Avalanche Launcher in the hole (on top of the shield and healing bubble).

    It works best on flat terrain.

    If the top part falls of, remove the avalanche launcher then use the build beam to bring the top part in the right positon, then put the avalanche launcher back in place.

    If someone is interested in this tech it's also on the workshop.

    INSTRUCTIONS:
    VERY FLOATY. LIGHTLY PRESS SHIFT TO GO UP, WASD TO MOVE. DOUBLE TAP B VERY QUICKLY IF YOU ARE GOING UP TOO FAST.

    An airship which can float very well. I don't have much else to say.

    The save is a normal R&D save that comes with a large charging tech. I request that you use this save for every tech that has batteries, because it is faster to charge a tech with the tech provided than the standard R&D charger.

    There is no difference between this save and the normal R&D save except for the charger positioned behind the spawn

    This snapshot is of the base section only, have you got one for the complete thing. (Also, beware that asking for assembly during stream might be optimistic, we shall see though.)

    I think the assumption is that they'd be thematically linked or part of a single setup, rather than just as a way of getting more techs shown. Pre-assembled multi-techs probably count as a single tech if they operate as one...(?)

    We'll have to see if Matt decides to show both of @GKJ's cool submissions, despite the 1 snapshot rule.

    I am for showing off anytime, but I think that "community core" should be about refreshing AI population, so i do not think that multitech that need assistance from user are good example. Automatic multitech that will activate on closing enemy should be ok, but if there is manual work...
    Soif tech can drop from the sky and work it should be in this thread. But i can be wrong... wouldn't be the first time.
    So can we just define if community core is for total showing off or to have working new tech for game?

    "Crimson Hawkmoth v2" I decided to add this one. If not for any other reason, but to add context to Zero's (@ZeroGravitas) comment (Thanks, by the way.). But I do love this one, it's one of my favorites. Hover bug (ground) controls, shift (will require a little feathering here and there) to ascend. It has a lot of thrust, so you may want to let off of W to turn sharper. - Rooster CrimsonHawkmoth v2.png

    "Scorpion Gunship" I may have went a little form over function here but the purpose of a gunship is fire-power over manoeuvrability and survivability anyway. Hoverbug controls, it will turn faster if you don't press W, relatively stable but tends to go to the right, probably due to the hoverbug.

    Instructions:
    1. Press "X" to detach the parts.
    2. Control the "Ballistics Controller" at the back. It's the part with the Jackhammer behind it.
    3. WASD controls: W & A depresses and elevates the gun respectively. S & D turns the gun left and right respectively.
    4. Press space to engage the brakes on the gun to keep it from moving. The controller is designed to adjust its position, so it's okay if it moves to the right. It can work whilst travelling, but on harsh terrain, it's recommended to use the brackets provided.

    Here's one I prepared earlier:

    Attack Car w Fighter.png

    The tech consists of a powerful armoured car and a moderately agile jet fighter. To detach the fighter, you must accelerate the whole tech to its maximum speed, let go of the W key, immediately press X and hold down Shift. The fighter will probably soar away like a mighty eagle, although not much can be done if it decides to get its landing gear tangled in the missile launchers.
