After a brief hiatus, Community Core has returned! And this time it's a doozy.

So quick explanation as to what's going on: You may remember we indefinitely suspended Comm Core a few weeks ago. The main reason for this was due to the introduction of Control Schemes and our concerns that submitted techs would be too complicated for us to handle on-stream. Well as it turns out they're not as complicated as we'd thought they might be (if anything control schemes have made it easier to know what's going on). As such we're bringing ye ole' Comm Core back!

That brings us on to this week's Comm Core. We want you to submit Techs that will be added to campaign as enemy techs!

The criteria for these are as follows:
    • They need to be wholly (or mostly) made of better future blocks
    • Hover techs would be preferable
    • They need better future weapons
    • Dimensions of no more than 8x8x8
Attach snapshots of Techs you want to be included in the Community Core stream. A limit of no more than THREE techs per submission. They must follow the above criteria. Techs that don't follow this will not be shown on stream or added to the enemy pool.

You can watch them in action on Wednesday 16th January from 4pm GMT on Twitch:

    www.twitch.tv/terratechgame

This thread will be archived just before the stream to make way for the next wave of Community Showcase submissions.

the Better tank "R" is a wheel based tank that move a bit fast and also packs quite a punch, maybe you want to wait until its battery is drained until you engage it, something tells me it may be a bit more sluggish then.

a new target has appeared, we are unsure if its friendly or hostile as it doesn't seem to have any weapons, it seems to be some kind of drone but we cant be sure of anything except one thing, it can move fast.

Not an actual submission, but BF enemy techs could be misguided and think that the player is some kinda eco terrorist.

8x8x8 may be a little to small...

Here are my submissions from easy to hard. Had a lot of fun with this one since hovers are my preferred build! Though staying 8x8x8 was very difficult.

Ant: The Ant is a speedy light scout hovercraft used to rapidly identify resource intensive areas. While its weapons are all front facing, the extreme maneuverability of the Ant makes this a non-issue.

    Ant.png

Hauler: The engineers were especially lazy in naming the Hauler. It's a modified Heavy Eagle escort utilizing a GSO flatbed collector to move precious resources identified by Ants back to base for processing.

    Hauler.png

Heavy Eagle: The Heavy Eagle is an escort tech designed to deter (and destroy if necessary) any hostile techs. Featuring twin gatling lasers and quad speed lance lasers, the Heavy Eagle can dish out serious punishment for its size. Unfortunately, so much focus on offense left little in terms of defense. Its GSO bubbles are powered only by a pair of Hawkeye batteries.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1548222933 This is the Auto-canon propelled plane "Venom". This plane has been created before the 1.0 update so switch the controls to plane mode :)

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1620407530 And here is the fixed version of the backflip SG propelled plane. The other one was broken because I built it before 1.0 update.

Even a Better Future needs some muscle to help keep rouge thieves at bay, so say hello to the
    Nomad

This heavily armed mini mech will hover about and escort fellow techs.

Been a while since i did some of these. So here we go.
First up is the Better Futures Mini-UFO. The Mini-UFO uses standard hover controls. generally you want to be at max ride height as the weapons are downward facing. they do angle out for defensive fire. No frills here really. Just a cool little UFO with ID4 style center laser. Wysiwyg.
    MiniUFO.png

Next up is the Better Futures Bullet Speeder. My first idea was to create Luke's Land speeder, but the 8x8x8 limit wasn't condusive to a good design. So I built a Speeder anyway. It may bob a bit at full Boosters, but you wont ground out on flat land. Tops out over 200 Mph. Well armed for a craft of it's size, But it's a little fragile. Should do well in the enemy pop.
    BF Bullet Speeder.png

And finally, i thought... 'How many Needle Lasers can i fit in an 8x8x8?' The BF Needler Trike was the answer. This fast Trike sports a twin Gyro Balance system (Make sure your Trim Gyros are set to Max or you will back flip constantly) Though at full boost it can still wreck it's self trying to make sharp turns. Fortunately, the Twin Gyro system will self right the craft in all but the worst Wrecks. It's fairly quick in a strait line, but it's heavy weapons load makes it far less maneuverable than other Motorcycle type Vehicles. And the Answer by the way, is 30. All forward facing. This thing spews Death out it's front. Immense destructive potential for something so small. It can broadside, but at much reduced firepower as the Needles tend to block line of fire of each other from all direction but the front. get a good line of fire though, and watch enemies disintegrate. I guess you could call it a BF Gunbrick to some extent. I know Gunbricks have been culled from the Pop, but well, you asked for BF weapons...

Edit: Dont Mind the Rain. Im playing Modded, but these Techs are Legit, I Promise.

Why not? Not everything submitted here makes it in anyways. I pointed out it's a Gun-brick. pretty well makes it not eligible. doesn't mean the devs cant have 30 seconds of fun with it for our entertainment.

also, in it's defense, Most gun-bricks use rotating weapons that have a pretty good field of fire. this is fairly forward focused, only a handful can actually cover it's flanks and it has no weapons behind 90 degrees past the front. also, contrary to most gun-bricks, it's fast, great at charging and pursuit, but it is fairly unstable and tends to roll if you turn too sharply and this gets worse the faster you go. Lastly, contrary to other Gun-bricks, it's pretty fragile. BF guns aren't the Shield/Cannons that other corporations' weapons are.

dare i say it's a population acceptable Gun-brick? Who knows. we'll Let the devs decide, just don't count it out yet.

Where is the best place to rest and relax on this planet?
Where can I find like minded people who share my passion for green energy?
Where can I be safe on this world?

Well look no further than the ECO Green Commune!

    ECO Green Commune.png

Don't let the size fool you, this 8x8x8 housing complex has everything an eco minded person could ever want by combining everyone together to embrace green eco power.

As for defenses go, if the fight gets out of hand the ECO Green Commune can separate into not 1, not 4, bu 12 separate individual Techs!
Just goes to show that, if you work together, you can defeat the biggest foe!

Better Future does not take any responsibility for injury sustained upon leaving the commune or deaths caused by not working together.
