Do the radars in the Alpha even work? I have seen them a few times and put them on my SAP, but I didn't see anything pop up and the text ran by to fast for me to know what to do with it. What was the plan for them?

Afaik they don't work. There is a message like "Won't work or aren't usable right now" or such at the bottom of the screen like with the A.I Module.

Maybe they are used as a minimap?
Like a normal small round/angled minimap in the bottom left corner and there we see: Minerals, friendly drones (maybe even colored differently for each job they do -> Scavange, protect [..]), enemys [...]

If we are going to be able build a base in the future, then how about land terraforming?
A large flat area would be ideal for a base, or could build a giant hill and put your base on top of it.

Base Weapons: Need to defend our base, right?
While the short range weapons are good for vehicles, what about long range and much more powerful weapons for base defense?

Another base building idea.
Have the GSO drill vertically into the ground to provide a fixed support or starting location for starting a base also the bigger you want your base to be the more supports it will require.

As I understood, the first base will "fall out of the sky" like a bomb and then build itself up :)

How about Water? Underwater Mining would be great! It could also be Fun to have battleships or Submarines. It makes a great obstacle for land-bound vehicles. And maybe you set up your base on an Island to be better protected from the enemy.

changing youre starting cab, as per the various factions would be nice, or just straight up having different starting vehicles per faction, say a base flying vehicle, base GSO mining vehicle, etc, that way youre not starting from scratch every time.

Some things I would like to see in the game is:

blocks in the form of : Wedge slopes, Blocks with one corner sloped, Tetra corner blocks, these would be lovely for aesthetics BUT could also server for some form of defense that allows you to Defend your self from being rammed and flipped upside down.

Ofc i would like to see more "stylish" stuff as well like flashing/rotating lights, window blocks, flags even bodyparts so the ones that would like to get less blocky looks could achieve this (I imagine this could pull a bunch of interest).

Then how about stuff like pistons that could let you build slim machines but when you get into a fight, you could let the pistons push you slim highly armored vehicle apart to become an epic war machine .

Maybe some cool track in different sizes instead of just wheels to make the vehicle able to climb stuff like a proper tank, while we are at tanks, a big main gun, either long range non rotatable with area damage like a howitzer or a rotatable main gun, ofc with slower loading then smaller stuff, but bigger area of impact and longer range as well.

anti air shells, lasers, mirror shield to repel lasers, hey why not add in old fashoin stuff like giant battle axes, maces lances and other medieval contraptions (would be a cool arena mode aka hack and slash, no bullets)

hey i could go on for hours here, but let other bring ideas aswell :p

We are planning some wedge blocks already. I should note that they will only have attach points on the flat sides, not the slopes as all blocks have to be attached in a strict grid to function in our game.

Aesthetic only blocks would be cool too. We have lots of functional blocks to build first, but aesthetic stuff will be great at some stage.

Interesting idea about pistons. We are talking about having 'breaker' blocks which would allow you to to blast them apart on command and perhaps jettison larger vehicle bits to reveal a smaller escape vehicle inside. But the idea of retractable piston parts sound cool too. We'll see what we can do. Something for Legion maybe?

Tank tracks and larger cannons are planned. We only have the smallest starting stuff now as we are building from the beginning and expanding up to the biggest kit as we continue.

AA weapons are planned and will be needed to combat flying enemies. Energy shields will appear first as the shield around your base unit, we will include smaller ones as we go on, perhaps for Better Future?

Hinges - so a vehicle could bend while steering, or bend when going over hills. Players could make amazing articulated vehicles.

Motorized Hinges - so one can attach guns to it and manually aim them at enemies. Or attach other things to help prevent being flipped, or help climbing over obstructions (like when a damn rock respawns under you causing you to get high-centered). With a motorized hinge, that giant robot creation in the recent kickstater email could have moving arms.

Wheels with shocks and possibly adjustable shock strength - To help prevent a wheel or two from being in the air when going over a hill.


All of these things combined could make for some really interesting huge creations.

Yes articulated parts are planned to all you to build longer* vehicles that will bend in the middle (like a lorry).

We may include powered articulation at some stage but we would have to have a good think about how exactly one would control each articulation in a straightforward manner.

Yes! Shock absorber wheels are planned. They are going to be made for Venture. However, before then we will need to add fall damage to make the shock absorbers worth while.

It would be nice to see some sort of missile system that would require you to go back to a base to rearm. Which in turn could create the need for supply vehicles and logistics or a mobile factory if you decide to lay siege to a base with strong shields or other defenses.
Very cool idea. We have steered clear of weapons with limited capacities until now to save from over complication. But for a weapon that is very powerful, it would be cool to require rearming and additional support networks to keep it working. Nice idea.

If there is going to be a day/night cycle then it would be awesome to have some sort of stealth gameplay mechanics available such as, having radar systems and radar jamers on vehicle to 'hide' them from enemy vehicles.
Yes, we have radars and cloaking devices planned. The radar block model is made already, although not yet working. This sort of thing will likely be most used by Hawkeye (jammers and hiding from radar) and Legion (full optic camouflage cloaking).

We want to do day and night cycles at some stage, but they are not top of the priority list at the moment.

I would love if there was some sort of spaceflight/colonization aspect the the game. This would open the the door to having large servers and sending over your vehicles to destroy your friends which would be a lot of fun.
Hey TaterTalker,

Yes, we want this aspect to online play too. However, online multiplayer is a big feature and still some way off yet. But as you say, clans and co-op fleets would be awesome. We have lots of neat ideas about how this could work already :)
