This has happened a billion times and I keep forgetting to report it.

It started back in 1.2.0.5 and it's continued to this version. Basically, when you're in R&D or Creative and you go far enough away from a tech that it unloads, there's a chance the control schemes will turn from whatever custom schemes you have back to one or more of the main 4: car, aeroplane, helicopter, or hovercraft. It basically just forgets whatever control scheme the tech had and then assigns them the schemes that fit (like the game does by default).

It may or may not also happen in campaign, but I haven't tested it. Since it occurs in 2/3 singleplayer gamemodes (I haven't tested mp either) I'd say it's a safe bet that this just happens throughout the whole game.

Yep, any control scheme gets unloaded from a tech if you leave it beyond the horizon and then return. Since the introduction of control schemes actually.

This one should already be logged, I'll give it a poke, thanks for reporting!
